You asked, we answered!

Here at Legend of the Seeker we have a brand new feature for you to get stuck into. It's called the Mailbag and it's place for you to ask any Seeker related questions you may have. It replaces the ever so popular FAQ section which had over a staggering 900 questions in its lifetime; but alas, it was becoming increasingly harder to maintain and keep up to date.

It's to this end that the Mailbag was born. We've already had some great questions sent in by some of you that I've answered and published in our first ever issue! Unsuprisingly, a lot of questions were about whether or not series 3 will happen. You can read what I think and more by visiting our first ever Mailbag.

The main difference between the Mailbag and the FAQ section, is that you can now share your own views on the questions asked by using the new commenting feature (which is located at the bottom of the page.) The more the merrier!

Finally, don't forget to send us in your questions if you'd like them to be published in next week's issue.

Design a t-shirt competition

Because the lovely people over at ABC have allowed the creation of fan merchandise for the Legend of the Seeker television show at CafePress.com, we thought we’d take this opportunity to see what you can come up with.

Your task Dear Seekers, is to come up with and produce an original design for a t-shirt that is Seeker related. There are of course, certain restrictions (but a lot of freedom too) so be sure to read the terms and conditions fully before entering.

The winning prize is a $100 CafePress Gift Certificate and a Legend of the Seeker fan pack (t-shirt, water bottle, bag...)

But that's not all. Anyone entering the competiton will also have the ability to make some cold hard cash – providing you add it to your CafePress shop to sell. Want to know more? Read our "Design a t-shirt competition" page.

Link Vs Richard

Our friends over at Factpile have recently posted a match between Link (from the Zelda games) and Richard (you know, our Richard Rahl!!)

They go on to say it's the most evenly matched battle to date, and I would have to agree with them.

If you haven't done so already, head over to Factpile and have your say in things. May the best man (or Hylian) win!

And for those of you not familiar with the Zelda series, I've written a comparative piece on Link and Richard. You can read it below.

I don’t know about you, but I’m a huge Zelda fan. It was one of the first games I ever played when I was a little girl. And with my brothers out playing football, I’d sneak a go on their SNES and load up A Link to the Past in the hopes of completing a dungeon level before they returned. Eventually they caught on to my antics and I was told in no uncertain terms to GET OUT OF THEIR ROOM.

FactPile: Rahl Vs Skywalker

No don't worry, we haven't gone mad. We've gone to FactPile.

FactPile is a website where your favourite (and not so favourite) comic, tv show, book, film and gaming characters are pitted together to battle it out. Members can contribute to the winning side by posting comments supporting them.

It's a chance for fans to share their knowledge on their beloved characters, and even learn about new ones!

Some time ago a match was posted between Nicci from the Sword of Truth books, and Lanfear from the Wheel of Time books.

And more recently, a match between the Rahl family and the Skywalker family was posted.

There is still time for you to decide who the winner is.

Remember you can use both the book series (Sword of Truth) and TV show (Legend of the Seeker) as source material when competing.

Head over to FactPile and join in the fun!

Win a copy of Confessor

We are running another competition at Legend of the Seeker. This time you can win a copy of Confessor by Terry Goodkind. This is the concluding book to the Sword of Truth series.

In honour of the Confessors, whose task it is to find truth (amongst other things), we want you to tell us your secrets, confess them as it were. They can be as humorous or as heart-wrenching as necessary - the only condition is that they have to be true.

Want to know more? Find out here on our comptition page.

Episode 15, new images

We have 5 brand new high resolution images from the upcoming episode, Conversion. Fans of Darken Rahl (yes because they do really exist) will be happy to know your favourite man appears in his sleeveless shirt - he must be so cold!

What could be going on here then? What is Darken Rahl playing at? Doesn't he realise who he's tied up?

Promo for Denna, Episode 8

We've got the promotional video for Denna, Episode 8. Don't lie, we know you were all waiting for it. If you've already watched it in the "Upcoming Episode" section located in the header of the site, then great. But now you can watch it in a bigger format in our archive.

The day has also been spent upgrading our gallery. A few things you'll notice is the new layout. It's based on the design of the main site, but flavoured for the use of the gallery. You can now search for images with keywords (top right), comment on images and navigate through different albums a lot quicker.

The images from the older gallery are almost all transferred over. Once this is completed, we'll update the gallery to include screenshots from the already-aired episodes. Expect this to happen in the coming days.

Happy New Year, let's hope 2009 brings us some much watched and loved episodes of Legend of the Seeker.

New design

Its purple. Its new. Its almost finished. Please bear with us while we complete the changes to the new and improved site design. Certain sections, such as, but not limited to: quiz, faqs and media, may look "unfinished". We are continuing to tweak the design and it should be finished very shortly.

The show is now on hiatus until early 2009 and so is the site. We are planning on getting all content and design up to date in time for when the show starts up again. If you have any suggestions for the site, now is the time to share them.

Stay tuned for competitions too, these are coming up!!

Screencaps of Prophecy and Destiny

For those of you who like looking at screencaps, I've added about 180 images from episode 1, Prophecy and episode 2, Destiny.

The images cover the important scenes and for those of you who have not watched the show, please bear in mind they will almost certainly contain spoilers. I've uploaded them to our gallery for your viewing pleasure.

On other website news, I will be writing up a review of the two episodes in the coming days. I'm amazed at some of the reviews I've seen already from various people online, some loving the show, some absolutely hating it... it just goes to show how people's views differ greatly from each others.

I've also decided to open up a writers corner on here for visitors, members, fans and not-fans-any-more can share their opinions on the show via the medium of article writing. All you need is an opinion and a computer. I'll post more details of this soon when it's been finalised.

Otherwise, hope most of you enjoyed the premiere episodes so far and continue to tune in this weekend for Bounty, episode 3.

Trailers, videos and more

The videos just keep pouring in. It's getting closer to the premier date and the promotion of the show is going well.

The View, Bridget Regan
Bridget Regan made her first ever appearance on The View television show on Tuesday, and discussed what it was like to get the part. She also mentioned that the series would be true to the books. How sweet is she? You can watch her interview here.

Prophecy trailer
Legendoftheseeker.com have also added a new trailer entitled 'Prophecy', and it contains brand new footage. The tone is a lot darker than the previous trailers, so check it out and enjoy. You can watch the trailer, Prophecy, here.

Craig Parker, cast interview
They've also added a new cast interview with Craig Parker, who plays Darken Rahl in the show. He describes Rahl as the super baddie who is very power hungry. Definitely sounds like the Darken Rahl we love to hate. You can check out Parker's interview here.

I will be adding screecaps of the new trailer within the day, so check back for those later.

In website news, you can now add your favourite quotes from the book series into our database. Head over to our quote section and add yours right now!

Jay Laga'aia aka Chase interview

Jay Laga'aia aka Dell 'Chase' Brandstone tells us about his character, describing him as a big bear underneath but don't turn your back on him because he will kill you.

We've added the video interview to our media section. I think he makes an incredible Chase and his interview only reinforces that.

Watch video interviews by Craig Horner and Bridget Regan who play Richard and Kahlan. Countdown widget launched

We've launched our own Legend of the Seeker countdown widget. It counts down the days until the first episode officially premiers on November 1st 2008. You can place this image in your forum signature or webpage to help promote the television show.

The image is dynamic, which means it changes the number of days automatically. All you have to do is copy and paste the code into your preferred location.

Please note, saving this image and directly uploading it to your site will not work; the image runs on script to make the actual countdown work. In the coming week various backgrond images and sizes will be available. Please contact us if you have any suggestions.
